In the morning, I decided to go to the Summer Festival. I needed some fun. It was early, but people were already milling around the place.
I head to try some skating. I thought it looked fun. It was actually boring. Since I'm a fairy, I didn't even put on skates. I just flew around the ring. Flying in rounds get boring pretty fast...
Soon enough, it was time for school again. The day was long, boring, and tiring. I fought off my sleepiness.
On my way back home, I was shocked to see a boy coming out of the bus at the same time. "Mind if we hang out?" It was Tristan Van Gould. I just met him at school. I stuttered, embarrassed.
"I, um... sure." I tried to look confident.
- "You really live here?
- "You really live here?
- Yes....
- I don't see a house.
- I don't have a house...."
To my surprise, not only he didn't mind, he wasn't disgusted or anything, but he actually started showing small signs of friendship. "How about your parents?
- I don't have parents..." He didn't push, thankfully. Except to say "Oh... I'm sorry."
I was so exhausted, I collapsed on the bench and fell asleep, and he actually watched over me the whole time. I thought he'd get bored or something. But he didn't.
He stood, and watched me sleeping. Sort of creepy in a way, but I felt safe. Maybe it's because he's a vampire, like my father. But unlike him, he's protecting himself from the sun. No burnt vampire.
I woke up and tried to do my homework. Not really easy. It was the full moon, and since I have no house, so no walls, zombies appeared and tried to scare me. I ignored them.
Tristan moved by my side, and I thought he would fight the zombie or something. That worried me, a little...
But he just sat with me and started helping me with my homework, explaining the questions. "Just ignore the zombies and they won't hurt you." He said between questions. The zombie was not very happy, and... Having back pain, it seems. But he was right, they didn't even touch us.
"Zombies always try to get your attention. You ignore them, and they will just keep making noises and trying to scare you. Panic, and then they might attack you." He explained. "So ... this question, are you sure about your answer?" We worked on my homework for what seemed a long time.
"See, told you we'd be fine!" He laughed, and I smiled at him. I thanked him for his help, and for not judging me.
He bid farewell, and he went home. Time for his curfew too, I guess. Is it me, or he's kinda cute?... Must not think about that. I'm just a homeless girl.
I laid back down on my bench, and fell asleep. The zombie stood there, watching, waiting, hoping to scare me, and failing.
Another zombie appeared. She didn't touch me either.
I woke up in the morning, untouched and well. Zombies are a real joke!
